C. Lloyd Mahaffey
C. Lloyd Mahaffey is a seasoned technology executive with more than 35 years of success in senior executive, marketing, sales, operations and venture capital roles for major technology companies and private equity firms, including Honeywell, Apple, VeriFone, Hewlett-Packard and Redleaf Venture Management.
Before joining SmartStory™ Technologies, he served as a managing partner at Carloma Group, LLC where he participated in aviation, technology, real estate development and renewable energy projects in the United States, South America and Europe. From 1998 to 2004, Mr. Mahaffey was a managing partner for Redleaf Venture Management, an early-stage infrastructure-oriented venture capital firm based in Saratoga, Calif.
From 1994 to 1998, he was senior vice president and chief operating officer at VeriFone, Inc., where he managed software development and Internet commerce initiatives. In 1996, he was promoted to chief operating officer and, in 1997, he led the team that negotiated the $1.3 billion acquisition of VeriFone by Hewlett-Packard.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mahaffey held a number of senior executive positions at Apple Computer Inc. As the company’s Southeast regional manager in the early 1980s, he grew the business unit’s revenues from $25 million to $250 million. Later, as director of Apple’s Education Group in Cupertino, Calif., he helped grow Apple’s global education revenues from $250 million to $1.2 billion. He also headed Apple’s Federal Systems Group, where he was responsible for worldwide marketing, sales and systems integration to the U.S. government.
Mr. Mahaffey earned a bachelor’s degree, with honors, at The Citadel, and attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Technology Executive Program.
Michael Boerner has 24 years of experience founding and leading media and technology companies. Before founding SmartStory™ Technologies in 2012, he launched Unity Media Group, a provider of enterprise platforms and services that allow companies in healthcare delivery and other sectors to create, deliver and manage digital video content targeting customers and other key audiences. He also founded Unity Medical, Inc., a provider of digital educational tools for enhancing patient experiences.
The companies’ clients included Johnson & Johnson, DePuy Synthes Companies, Covidien, St. Luke’s Health System, K12, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Duke Medical Center and the Ken Blanchard Companies. Mr. Boerner also founded Mission Media, a 501(c) 3 values-based media-syndication company.
In his previous positions, he was responsible for raising more than $20 million in capital. He also developed several business and video-based methodologies and technologies to allow personalized customer engagement.

He spent 10 years in executive technology leadership at Silicon Valley based Applied Materials, Inc., where he held global level positions in engineering, technology, and business development.
As a successful author, Dr. Baiya has published more than thirty peer-reviewed publications and holds several technology patents. He has received multiple awards in areas of academia, innovations and professional/community leadership (Idaho Accomplished Under 40 award). He is a sought-after speaker and consultant in the area of technology innovations and new product development.
Dr. Baiya holds a PhD in engineering and technology development and an MBA from Northwest Nazarene University. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Executive program with an emphasis in business strategy and intellectual property.

He has a proven track record as a consultant to Fortune 500 firms and government entities. He co-developed and delivered a process-improvement methodology that has created more than $300 million in documented value for clients such as BASF, Johnson & Johnson, Callaway Golf, Williams Energy, Eastman Chemical, SABIC (formerly GE Plastics), Honda of America, Lanxess, Basic American Foods, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army.
Earlier in his career, he was general manager of IDACORP Solutions, an energy-services company. At IDACORP, he directed a group of engineers, product managers and other marketing professionals in developing and marketing a full suite of energy-related products and services to commercial and industrial clients in the Western U.S.

Dr. Ronald G. Linaburg is a native of Western Pennsylvania, attended the University of Pittsburgh for predoctoral studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1968, he received a DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine. After a two-year private practice of general dentistry, in 1970 entered The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry Graduate Endodontic Program. In 1972, received his Endodontic Certificate and Master of Science Degree in Endodontics. In 1972, Dr. Linaburg was appointed Associate Professor and Director of the Department of Endodontics at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. Dr. Linaburg practiced endodontics exclusively since 1972 and is the founder of Associated Dental Specialists and serves as its Executive Director.
Chris DiGiorgio, until his recent retirement, was the lead for Accenture’s Silicon Valley Office of Emerging Technology. In this role, he focused on identifying and developing relationships with early stage tech companies that tie directly to Accenture’s technology vision. His scope included Mobility, Security, Cloud, Big Data, Analytics, Social Media, and other related enterprise technologies. Mr. Nicholas Preftakes is the Chairman, President and owner of Precor Fund Equity, Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and its subsidiary companies including Precor Realty Advisors, Inc. He oversees the firm’s commercial real estate holdings, developments, acquisitions and private equity investments. He has over 35 years of real estate lending experience, previously working with Henderson National Corporation as CFO from February 1988 to December 1989 and serving as VP and SVP between August 1984 and February 1988. Previously, he was with Liberty National Bank and Trust and Norwest Bank Iowa, specializing in commercial real estate lending.
